THE POOR AMONGST US PT 6 BY SIMON TULEH:

UNDERSTANDING THE VOCABULARY OF THE RICH PT 3:
UNDERSTANDING THE POWER INFLUENCE:
“If your desire is to be successful or to make a positive impact on your world, you need to become a person of influence. Without influence there is no success.”
                                                                                                 John C Maxwell
This is one of the most important words the rich hold in high esteem and consider quintessential for being rich and wealthy. You must embrace this precious word as you regularize it therein. As you have seen so far these words discussed in the sub-titles can practically be gaugers of one’s proximity to this world of the rich and wealth.
How do you see cashflow? What is your present stand on cashflow? How about assets? Do you own passive assets or futuristic assets?
I advise you to earnestly endear these words as part of your vocabulary, make it a duty for those to become your gauge for success.
0.05% INFLUENCES THE WORLD:
A recent report by PriceWaterhouse Cooper (PwC) on some of the world’s billionaires shows that in 2014 less than 0.5% of the world population owned a wealth of $5.4 trillion which could be distributed across 1 billion people (close to 40% of the world’s population). Then look at it this way that this insignificant number of the world’s population control the large chunk of the world’s wealth.
Why?
The power of influence!
Bill Gates for instance who has continued to top the world’s richest directly employs up to 114,000 at Microsoft Corporation with a total assets base of up to $193.69 billion in 2016. He approves the payment of these people’s monthly salaries and to a large extent determining what they earn. But that is not my point, just do a little arithmetic of these employees and their families or dependent of 1:2 by 114,000 that will be 342,000 directly under the influence of Bill Gates and Microsoft Corporation. This is about 5% of the entire world population controlled by one individual, how?
Microsoft Corporation.
This is the threshold of the rich and wealthy; they think influence but the poor only think how to earn money or getting rich. You earn money by working for Microsoft Corporation and taking care of your family, buy a car from an auto dealership shop, rent a house etc. But what if you decide to own a Microsoft softwares dealership, you would employ a receptionist/customer care attendant, two(2) marketers and accountant/cashier. You are taking care of 12 people directly and having influence over their lives.
The poor have a misconception that influence is when you are rich but to the rich influence is not about just having money but owning the masses. This is why companies grow, go public or merge because the more people you can influence the more riches and wealth you attract.
ADVERTISING IS INFLUENCE:
One of the biggest industries in the 21st century is e-commerce and online advertising.
Facebook Corporation currently hosts up to 2 billion accounts grossing the company revenues in the billions of dollars yearly through adverts as major sources. Why do people advertise on Facebook more than any other mediums of advertising? Facebook has influence.
There is no business or entity that will want to align with non-influential people, the more your influence grows the greater proximity to wealth. You can truly find people around you who truly are rich because they are influencers.
Aliko Dangote is so influential he determines how much you build your house and feed your family through various products he sells including cement (for construction) and household products (salt, sugar, noddles, rice, flour, etc).
Linda Ikeji, Nigeria’s leading blogger and celebrity earns hundreds of millions yearly just for adverts on her blogsite.
Halle Berry who is considered one of the most beautiful women in the world and a supermodel earning up to $100 per minute by the influence of her physique.
Rich and wealthy people will never be satisfied by just earning an income until they can influence more and more people. Just like John Maxwell emphasizes, “no matter what your goals are in life or what you accomplish you can achieve them faster, you can be more effective, and the contribution you make can be long lasting if you learn how to become a person of influence.
